Lesson 71 | VERBてあります

文型一：　NOUN1　に　NOUN2　が　VERB《て形》　あります　(See Lesson 19 EXISTENCE)
文型二：　NOUN2　は　NOUN1　に　VERB《て形》　あります　(See Lesson 19 LOCATION)

Notes:

• This sentence pattern ① indicates the result of something intentionally done by somebody.
• The verbs used here are 他動詞 （たどうし／TRANSITIVE VERB） that express intentions.
• Even though transitive verbs are used in VERBてあります, we use が instead of を. 
• 文型二 is used when NOUN2 in 文型一 is taken up as a topic.
• VERBてあります can also be used ② to express the state of the result of what somebody did for some purpose.

例 for ①： 

壁に時計が掛けてあります。　「There's a clock hanging on the wall.」
本棚に本が並べてあります。　「There are books lined up on the bookshelf.」
キャビネット（cabinet）にカレンダーが置いてあります。　「There's a calendar placed on top of the cabinet.」
ランプはテーブルの上に置いてあります。　「The lamp has been placed on top of the table.」
写真立て（しゃしんたて／picture frame with stand, framed pictures）は棚の上に飾ってあります。　「The framed pictures have been placed on top of the shelves.」

例 for ②：
チケットはもう買ってあります。　「I have already bought the ticket.」
ホテルはもう予約してあります。　「I have already reserved a hotel.」
友達にもう連絡してあります。　「I have already informed my friends.」
