文型：　VERB《て形》　おきます

Notes:

•  This pattern is used ① to express completion of a necessary action by a given time; ② to express completion of a necessary action in readiness for the next time; and ③ keeping the resultant state as it is.
• In daily conversation, VERBておきます becomes VERBときます.

例：
会議前にレポートを書いておきます。　「I'll finish the report before the meeting.」
→　会議前にレポートを書いておく。
→　会議前にレポートを書いとく。

模擬試験（もぎしけん／mock examination）までにこの本を読んでおいてください。　「Please read this book before the mock exam.」
→　模擬試験までにこの本を読んでおいて。
→　模擬試験までにこの本を読んどいて。

食べたら、お皿を洗っておいてください。　「After you eat, please wash the dishes (in preparation for the next use).」
→　食べたら、お皿を洗っておいて 。
→　食べたら、お皿を洗っといて。

後　会議がありますから、椅子はそこに並べておいてください。　「Please leave the chairs as they are because there's a meeting later.」
→　後　会議ですから、椅子はそこに並べておいて。
→　後　会議ですから、椅子はそこに並べといて。

明日まだ使いますから、その資料はそこに置いておいてください。　「I will still use the documents tomorrow, so please leave it there.」
→　明日まだ使いますから、その資料はそこに置いておいて。
→　明日まだ使いますから、その資料はそこに置いといて。
