Lesson 75 | Expressing INTENTION

文型：　VERB《辞書形》／VERB《ない形》　つもりです　「I intend to...」

Notes:

• This sentence pattern is used to express the speaker's intention of doing something and of not doing something respectively.
• Compared to VERB《意向形》と思っています, this pattern sounds more determined.

例：
年を取ったら、日本語の勉強を続けるつもりです。　「Even if I grow old, I intend to continue my Japanese studies.」
野菜をたくさん食べるつもりです。　「I intend to eat a lot of vegetables.」
いつか日本へ行くつもりです。　「I intend to go to Japan someday.」
今年日本語能力試験を受けないつもりです。　「I don't intend to take the JLPT this year.」
今からお酒を飲まないつもりです。　「From now on, I'm determined to not drink alcohol anymore.」
