Lesson 44 | Combining verb sentences

文型一：　VERB《て形》、VERBします

Notes:

• This sentence pattern is used to connect verb sentences which take place in succession.
• The tense of the sentence is determined by the tense form of the last verb in the sentence.

例：
朝シャワーを浴びて、歯を磨きます。　「In the morning, I take a shower then brush my teeth.」
働く時、コンピューターを点けて、電子メールを出します。　「When I work, I turn on the computer then send emails.」
一昨日銀行へ行って、お皿（おさら）やお茶碗（おちゃわん）などを買って、レストランで昼食を食べました。　「Yesterday, I went to the bank, bought plates, bowls, etc. then went to eat lunch at a restaurant.」
学校へ行く時、ジープに乗って、学校の前で降ります。　「When I go to school, I take the jeep and get off in front of the school.」
昨日寝る前に、ドラマを見て、日本語を勉強しました。　「Before I went to sleep last night, I watched a drama then studied Japanese.」

文型二：　VERB《た形》　り、VERB《た形》　りします

Notes:

• This sentence pattern is used in expressing actions among many other actions.
• The tense of the sentence is determined by the tense form of the last verb in the sentence.

例：
毎日朝食を食べたり、運動したり、シャワーを浴びたりします。　「Every morning, I eat breakfast, exercise, take a shower, and so on.」
モールへ行く時、買い物したり、コーヒーを飲んだり、映画を見たりします。　「When I go to the mall, I shop, drink coffee, watch a movie, and so on.」
昨日勉強したり、電話を掛けたり、ピアノを弾いたりしました。　「Yesterday, I studied, made a phone call, played the piano, and so on.」
旅行の前に、航空券（こうくうけん／plane ticket）を買ったり、ホテルを予約したりしなければなりません。　「Before I travel, I have to buy a plane ticket, book a hotel room, and so on.」
パーティーで友達と会ったり、歌ったり、踊ったりしました（おどったりしました）。　「I met with my friends, sang, danced, and so on at the party.」
