Lesson 42 | 私の趣味

文型一：　趣味　は　NOUN　です　「My hobby is...」
文型二：　趣味　は　VERB《辞書形》こと　です　「My hobby is...」

例：
私の趣味は映画です。　「My hobby is movies.」
→　私の趣味は映画を見ることです。　「My hobby is watching movies.」
私の趣味は旅行です。　「My hobby is travelling.」
私の趣味は日本語を勉強することです。　「My hobby is studying Japanese.」
私の趣味は食べることです。　「My hobby is eating.」
私の趣味はきれいなカードを集める（あつめる）ことです。　「My hobby is collecting beautiful cards.」

Notes:

• こと is attached to the 辞書形 of the verb in order to nominalize said verb.
• As you can see in the examples above, 文型二 expresses hobbies more concretely than 文型一.
