Lesson 40 | TIMEまでにVERB

文型：　TIME　までに　VERB　「(Do the) VERB by TIME」

Notes:

• The point in time indicated by までに is the time by which an action is to be done.
• Do not confuse までに with まで. In English, までに means "by" while まで means "until".

例：
土曜日までに宿題を出してください。　「Please hand in your homework by Saturday.」
→　六時まで宿題をしました。　「I did my homework until 6.」

クラスは五時までに終わります。　「The class will be finished by 5.」
→　五時まで電話を使いません、授業中（じゅぎょうちゅう／while in class）ですから。　「I don't use my phone until 5 because I'm in a class.」

来月までに友達に借りる本を返さなければなりません。　「I need to return the book that I borrowed from my friend by next month.」
→　友達は来月まで本を貸してくれます。　「My friend is lending me the book until next month.」

今晩七時までに帰らなければなりません、明日早い起きなければなりませんから。「Tonight, I have to go home by 7 because I have to wake up early tomorrow morning.」
→　明日十一時まで兄の家にいます。　「Tomorrow, I'll be at my brother's house until 11.」

三時までに銀行へ行きます。　「I have to go to the bank by 3.」
→　友達は三時まで銀行で働きます。　「My friend works in a bank until 3.」
