文型：　PERSON　に　VERB

Notes:

• に is used as a specific time marker in Lesson 7.
• Here, に marks the person receiving or giving the action. It's like to or from depending on the verb used after it.
• It's easier to remember who received or gave the action if you place a mental は in front of the sentence. The noun before は is always the doer of the action.

例：
私は母に携帯電話（けいたいでんわ）をあげました。　「I gave a cell phone to my mom.」
母は私に携帯電話をもらいました。　「Mom received a cell phone from me.」

父は兄に電話を掛けました（かけました）。　「Father made a call to brother.」
兄は父に電話をもらいました。　「Brother received a call from father.」

私は友達にCDを貸しました。　「I lent a CD to my friend.」
友達は私にCDを借りました。　「My friend borrowed a CD from me.」

先生は私に日本語を教えました。　「Teacher taught me Japanese.」
私は先生に日本語を習いました。　「I learned Japanese from my teacher.」

彼女（かのじょ）は彼（かれ）にレポートを送りました。　「She sent a report to him.」
彼は彼女にレポートをもらいました。　「He received a report from her.」
